As a long-time fan of Allu Arjun and an avid follower of Indian cinema, I must admit that this unfortunate incident at the Sandhya theatre has left me deeply saddened. I have always admired Arjun’s talent and charisma on screen, and his ability to connect with his fans is truly remarkable.

Allu Arjun arrested after Sandhya theatre incident

Police officials apprehended Allu Arjun at his residence in Hyderabad following a complaint lodged against him. His detainment stems from an upsetting event that transpired at the Sandhya theater, where his film Pushpa 2 was screening.

On December 4, 2024, Arjun unexpectedly showed up at the theater, leaving everyone present, especially his fans, in awe. Given his immense fame, an excited crowd rushed into the theater, leading to a chaotic situation similar to a stampede. Unfortunately, this chaos resulted in the death of Revathi, a 35-year-old woman, and caused severe injuries to Arjun’s son. (Adapted from Deadline)

The video featured the actor working together with authorities upon their arrival at his residence. It’s worth noting that Arjun’s relatives were present during the moment he was taken into custody.

According to the police, it appears that the Sandhya Theatre staff weren’t aware of Arjun’s arrival. However, Arjun’s team stated otherwise. The excitement among the crowd was so immense as they tried to catch a peek of the celebrity, that the police had to step in to control the situation.

After the incident, the Commissioner of Hyderabad Police stated that neither the theater management nor the actors’ team provided any warning. The theater did not take extra security measures to handle the crowd nor was there a separate entrance or exit for the actors, despite the management knowing they were coming. (paraphrased from TOI)

“Arjun was accused of manslaughter, not murder, and intentionally causing injury. But in a recent development reported by Hindustan Times, the victim’s spouse declared, ‘It wasn’t Allu Arjun’s fault that he went to the cinema that day. I am willing to drop my complaint.’

After the event, Allu Arjun likewise posted on X (previously Twitter) to convey his sympathies to the bereaved family.
