The popular TV series “Battle on the Beach” was recently among those HGTV shows that got canceled, joining a long line of successful programs. Despite its massive fan base and past successes, viewership and critical reception alone couldn’t prevent the cancellation of “Battle on the Beach Season 5.
It seems that HGTV chose not to renew the contract for the fifth season of their popular show. Here’s what we know so far about this decision.
Why HGTV canceled Battle on the Beach before Season 5
Battle on the Beach became one of the many shows from HGTV to be axed this year.
Alison Victoria, one of the three mentors from the show, has announced on her podcast called “Pap Smear Podcast” that there won’t be a Season 5 for Battle on the Beach. She shared, “I thought I’d share: I used to host a show titled Battle on the Beach which was full of fun and laughter. But, when I watched an episode, I found myself wondering ‘Where did all that energy go?'” This indicates that she is disappointed about the cancellation of the series.
The seasoned interior designer commented, “I understand your predicament, don’t I? Cramming so much content into just 42 minutes can be challenging, but where’s the skillful editing? I believe such a hasty approach could cost you the show. Regrettably, Battle on the Beach didn’t get renewed, which is unfortunate as it felt like an adult version of spring break.
Victoria’s declaration represented the fifth instance where a star has disclosed an HGTV show cancellation. Previously, Bargain Block, Married to Real Estate, Farmhouse Fixer, and Izzy Does It were all terminated.
The specific cause behind the cancellations is still kept confidential. As per recent news, it appears that Battle on the Beach and other HGTV shows may have been terminated with the intention of ensuring the network’s longevity.
Furthermore, HGTV hasn’t issued an official statement regarding the cancellations, implying that they might still be deliberating their decisions. Consequently, Battle on the Beach could be among the shows potentially axed this year.
