James Gunn Busy Masterminding The DCU
According to an interview with Variety, John Cena attributed the delay in the release of the upcoming season to James Gunn, who is directing it. In simpler terms, John Cena mentioned that James Gunn is responsible for the long wait.
In essence, James Gunn isn’t personally involved, but rather, he shares the responsibility with Peter Safran for shaping the future of the DC Universe (DCU). They are tasked with creating a vision and charting a course for the upcoming superhero films and television series that the DCU will produce.
His calendar was just too full of dates for season 2, but John Cena gave us hope.
And it seems like forever ago, now that we’re filming every day, it seems like it will be just right around the corner that we’re watching Season 2.”
In April 2024, James Gunn shared a sneak peek of the pre-production stage for season 2 on social media. It appears that the filming process has officially begun!
