As a longtime Marvel fan who’s witnessed the intricacies of their universe unfold over decades, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation as I ponder the enigmatic character of Teen in Agatha All Along. The mystery surrounding his identity and the peculiarity of his speech have left fans like me guessing and speculating.
As a dedicated gamer, I dived headfirst into the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series, “Agatha All Along,” which premiered on Wednesday, September 18. It left me scratching my head with numerous unanswered questions, particularly about Joe Locke’s Teen character. Why does his mouth get covered and his speech get muffled whenever he talks to Agatha about himself? Fans are buzzing with theories, and here’s mine on the mystery.
Why was Teen’s mouth covered when he spoke his name in Agatha All Along?
In episode 2, Teen attempts to tell Agatha about himself on two occasions – firstly, his identity after freeing her from the Scarlet Witch’s spell, and secondly, his origin when they were driving around Westview. However, each time something strange happens that prevents Agatha from understanding more about Teen; in the former instance, a mysterious M-like symbol appears over Teen’s mouth, and in the latter, his voice became garbled and indistinct.
It seems reasonable to infer that some sort of magical influence is at play in the events surrounding Teen. What makes this situation intriguing is that he remains oblivious to it. Maybe a magic practitioner or supernatural force has cast a spell on him, concealing his identity from someone like Agatha. It’s not common for such an occurrence to happen each time Teen talks about himself to others. If it did, he would be aware of it by now.
There’s a common theory among fans that the character known as ‘Teen’ could potentially be William “Billy” Kaplan-Altman, also recognized as Scarlet Witch’s son in the comics. This would explain why someone might be attempting to conceal Teen’s true identity from Agatha.
Instead of assuming the curse was on Teen directly, it could be that Agatha was the one cursed. Since we haven’t heard Teen speak about himself in front of other coven members, it remains unclear whether they will share Agatha’s predicament. It’s also plausible that this is a leftover effect from Scarlet Witch’s spell, preventing Agatha from finding out the truth about Teen.
Has Mephisto cast a spell on Joe Locke’s Teen or Agatha?
As WandaVision approached and streamed online, viewers were guessing that a character from Marvel Comics, Mephisto, a demonic entity, could make an appearance in the series. However, this didn’t occur. Yet, it’s possible that Mephisto might show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) via Agatha All Along, particularly if Teen turns out to be Wiccan. In the comics, Mephisto plays a crucial role in the story of Wiccan’s and his twin brother, Tommy Shepherd or Speed, origin. Furthermore, the M-shaped symbol that appears over Teen’s mouth could hint at Mephisto’s influence.
