In the latest preview for the film titled “Atrabilious,” Academy Award winner Whoopi Goldberg, along with Oscar-nominated actors Jeffrey Wright and Alec Baldwin, work together to unravel a perplexing enigma. This suspenseful production is helmed by director William Atticus Parker, who also penned the screenplay and collaborated on production with Sabina Friedman-Seitz.
In a rough Brooklyn setting, the story unfolds around Steven Joynier, portrayed by Leon Addison Brown from “The Knick”. His narrative delves into uncovering the truth behind his son’s abrupt and suspicious demise. This quest takes him to an enigmatic bar named Atrabilious, where slowly, ancient secrets and a haunting past start to emerge into the light.

What happens in the Atrabilious trailer?
The video starts off by Goldberg’s character inquiring about Steven’s well-being. He gives a minimal response. Later, Wright’s character extends an invitation to Steven. Rather than having to confront sorrow and everything associated with it, he assures Steven that he will help him erase the memories.
In simpler terms, Wright’s character suggests that Steven might soon experience the consequences of the road he’s chosen. As for the Atrabilious trailer, it shifts into a darker mood, suggesting that Steven seems to be relying on this unknown and enigmatic method to cope with his son’s passing.
Moving forward, the trailer appears to focus on diverse patrons frequenting the Atrabilious bar. Despite each carrying unique backstories regarding why they initially sought refuge there, it seems they share a common bond – a preference for the novel method they’ve chosen to cope with their sorrow.
Among Brown, Wright, Goldberg, and Baldwin, the lineup in Atrabilious also features Mark Boone Junior, who previously acted in Sons of Anarchy, as well as Evan Jonigkeit from The Night House. Buffalo 8 is responsible for distribution. This film represents Parker’s second project; he is the son of Billy Crudup and Mary Louise-Parker, following Forty Winks.
