Speculation about who might take over Anna Wintour’s position as head of Vogue U.S. editions has been growing online. According to recent news from The New York Times, it appears that Wintour will relinquish her long-standing role as editor-in-chief, marking the end of her tenure in this position.

Among potential candidates for filling Wintour’s position, it’s been mentioned that Chioma Nnadi is a strong contender. As of October 9, 2023, she has been leading the editorial content for British Vogue. Notably, she became the first woman of color to hold a senior leadership role at Vogue, making history in her position.
Long-standing Vogue admirers consider Chioma Nnadi as a strong contender to succeed Anna Wintour. As stated on Reddit, “It’s widely predicted that Chioma Nnadi will get the job. She has proven her leadership skills as head of editorial content at Vogue UK, and she seamlessly took over from an icon (Edward). She has an impressive background, prior experience with Vogue US, is highly respected within the industry, and both writers and advertisers appreciate her.
A potential replacement for Wintour could be Amy Astley. At present, she is the global editorial director and editor-in-chief of Architectural Digest. In the past, Astley was the founding editor of Teen Vogue, starting the magazine in January 2003, after being chosen by Anna Wintour in June 2002. During her time there, Astley also served as the editorial director at Teen Vogue.
Astley’s close ties with Wintour could potentially lead to her being seriously considered for the position. Additionally, many fans speculate that Nikki Ogunnaike, who currently holds the title of Editor-in-Chief at Marie Claire USA, could also be a suitable choice for the role.
