Supporters of “The White Lotus” are guessing about the identity of the shooter as the climax of Season 3 approaches. The opening scene of the season, featuring Zion, Belinda’s son, was filled with gunshots. A stray bullet broke a window at the meditation center, causing Zion to dive into the water out of concern for his mother’s well-being. However, the shooter’s identity remains unknown. Creator Mike White is known for his unpredictability, so it’s anyone’s guess. With the recent developments in the last few episodes, here are some theories about who might be the shooter in Episode 8 titled “Amor Fati.” (Spoiler alert!)
Shooter predictions in The White Lotus Season 3 finale
In the final episode of The White Lotus Season 3, it’s speculated that the person (or people) responsible for the shooting could potentially be any of the Russian thieves led by Valentin, the security personnel protecting the hotel proprietress Sritala, or the security guard Gaitok.
In Episode 7, it strikes Gaitok that the individual who had halted him at the gate and allowed the robbers to pass is none other than Valentin – the charming health advisor assigned to Kate, Jaclyn, and Laurie. As Valentin watches a fight alongside his companions, Aleksei, and Vlad, Gaitok recognizes them all from afar in the arena.
It’s quite possible that a confrontation involving gunfire may take place in the finale, since Gaitok, driven by his feelings for Mook and his desire for more ambition despite being peaceful, might feel compelled to take action against Valentin’s gang. He has shown proficiency with firearms at the shooting range and hits his targets accurately. However, this newfound confidence could potentially result in unwanted consequences due to his choice to resort to violence.
There’s a chance that an altercation may break out between Rick, who has threatened Sritala’s husband’s life, and Sritala’s security personnel. Given the seriousness of his actions, it wouldn’t be wise for him to return to the hotel. However, he might still be feeling overconfident due to the excitement following Episode 7.
There’s a strong possibility that Gary decided to harm Belinda when she declined his bribe offer. Since the finale sneak peek indicates she doesn’t want to communicate with Gary anymore, it seems this encounter didn’t end well. This is supported by Zion’s desperate worry throughout the series that his mother might have been harmed during the initial gunfire in the first episode.
