Today, March 25, Tamil actor Shihan Hussaini passed away following his struggle with blood cancer. Tragically, he took his final breath in Chennai during the early morning hours. His family announced this sad news on social media platforms. Before we delve deeper into his life and accomplishments, let’s first reflect upon his extraordinary journey.

Who was Shihan Hussaini?

Master Hussaini achieved prominence as a martial arts teacher, sharing screen space with actors like Kamal Haasan, Thalapathy Vijay, and Rajinikanth in films. He was also a fervent admirer of Jayalalitha, and his unwavering loyalty often made the news. In 2016, he held the position of general secretary for the Archery Association of Tamil Nadu.

In the context of archery, Shihan Hussaini made a substantial contribution to its growth in Tamil Nadu. His unwavering commitment to teaching and advancing sports gained him widespread admiration.

In the course of his cancer fight, the Tamil Nadu government granted him financial assistance in recognition of his notable achievements. Despite his approaching end, he stayed dedicated to education and mentorship. In fact, he chose to donate his body for medical studies and asked that Sri Ramachandra Medical College be where his remains are sent, paying tribute to its founder, Ramasamy Udayar, who had been a long-time supporter of his karate association.

Shihan Hussaini’s last wish to Pawan Kalyan and Vijay

Back in the 1990s, Pawan Kalyan’s commitment to martial arts left Shihan Hussaini in awe. At that time, Hussaini had temporarily stopped teaching due to managing a security agency. Nevertheless, Pawan Kalyan’s determination eventually led him back to his teaching role.

For about a month, the actor regularly attended Shihan Hussaini seeking martial arts training, which he was eventually granted. Living with him for more than a year thereafter, he diligently followed a strict regimen and performed daily tasks under his guidance. It wasn’t until several months later that the karate master became aware of Pawan Kalyan’s relationship to Chiranjeevi because he had kept it secret all along. His unwavering dedication and humility eventually earned him a black belt.

In the final stages of his life, Shihan Hussaini expressed a desire for Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to assume control at the national level and continue its operation. He reminisced about bestowing the name Pawan upon him and felt confident that he would comply with his wish. Furthermore, he harbored aspirations that Thalapathy Vijay would foster the popularity of archery in Tamil Nadu and strive to send a state athlete to the Olympics.

Shihan Hussaini’s family shared on Facebook that he passed away and would stay at his home in Besant Nagar until evening. They invited archers and karate practitioners to honor him while wearing their uniforms. Archers will release arrows at 5 PM, while karate practitioners will perform their katas at 3 PM. After 7 PM, his remains will be transported to Madurai.
