Born and raised in Kerala but schooled in Gujarat, this chameleon-like actor has seamlessly blended into various roles, be it in Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam cinema.

Who is Unni Mukundan?

Born in Thrissur, Kerala, Unni Mukundan is a renowned actor who, unlike many of his peers, spent most of his formative years in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. His educational journey unfolded within the walls of Pragati Higher Secondary School in Ahmedabad. In time, he developed an interest in English Literature and Journalism, which led him to pursue higher education in these fields.

Prior to venturing into the world of entertainment, it’s said that Unni Mukundan was employed by a firm known as Motif.

Starting his acting journey in 2011, he made his debut in Tamil cinema with the movie Seedan, a remake of the Malayalam film Nandanam. His first role in the Malayalam film industry was in Bombay March 12, where he worked alongside Mammootty under the direction of Babu Janardhanan.

2022 saw him earning acclaim for his role in “Meppadiyan.” Remarkably, this film was also awarded the National Prize for being the most outstanding debut directorial work.

Anson Paul played the character Devaraj, and Yukti Thareja captivated us all as Maria in this exciting production.
