As a die-hard fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, I’ve seen my fair share of survivors and their harrowing tales. But Steve Zahn’s portrayal of Solo in Silo Season 2 has left me spellbound!
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my excitement over the latest developments in “Silo” Season 2! The show has captivated us once again with its gripping storyline, and one of the most intriguing additions is the new character, Solo, played by the talented Steve Zahn. With the book series serving as a backbone for this production, fans like me are eagerly waiting to uncover more about Solo’s role in this season. So, who exactly is Steve Zahn’s Solo in “Silo” Season 2?
Here is everything you need to know about the new character in this science-fiction series.
Who is Steve Zahn’s character, Solo in Silo Season 2?
Steve Zahn’s Solo is a survivor in Silo 18.
Towards the close of Season 2, Episode 3, Juliette comes across an unusual survivor named Solo. Solo was first hinted at in the season opener when he came close to ending Juliette’s life after she tried to open a safe. Upon their proper introduction, Solo discloses that he is the sole survivor of a revolt inside Silo 18. On the surface, Solo seems to be an older, bearded man, significantly affected by his prolonged isolation.
Solo’s story resonates with Juliette, as his survival after a rebellion mirrors the consequences Juliette faces after her own revolutionary actions in her home Silo. He also reveals that a man named Russell instructed him to never let anyone enter the vault. Despite his distrust, Solo is eager to reconnect with people after years of solitude.
As Juliette attempts to persuade Solo to depart from the vault, he is initially reluctant. However, when she chooses to go, Solo implores her to remain and promises to assist her in making a safe journey back home.
How is Solo different in Silo related books?
Solo’s backstory differs between the Silo trilogy books and the TV series.
Although the television show adheres to the initial book, Wool, it presents significant alterations. Unlike the books where Solo was a child raised outside the Silos prior to descending beneath the ground, in the series, Solo has lived his entire existence underground, similar to Juliette.
Although there are differences between the series and the books, it seems both share comparable plot developments. In the series, Solo and Juliette collaborate to mend the life pod that transported her to Silo 18, enabling her to go back home. Conversely, in the books, their task keeps them apart, with Solo being apprehended by other survivors, suggesting he was not as solitary as presented. Eventually, Juliette leaves for her own Silo, abandoning Solo amidst a burgeoning rebellion within it.
As the second season unfolds, fans will see even more of Steve Zahn’s standalone character, Silo. Catch new episodes of this series exclusively on Apple TV+.
