In an interesting twist, Sunil Kumar from Jammu, previously a police constable, takes on the character of Sarkata in Stree 2. Standing at an impressive 7’6″, Sunil overshadows even the renowned wrestler Great Khali by five inches. Nicknamed ‘The Great Khali of Jammu,’ Sunil also has a history in wrestling. He competes under the name The Great Angaar and attempted to join WWE in 2019 during tryouts.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Director Amar Kaushik disclosed that they searched for an actor capable of portraying the imposing threat of Sarkata physically. As it turns out, the casting team discovered him. They were looking for someone of such great height and he met their requirements perfectly. During production, they used his physical shots while the face of Sarkata was digitally created using CGI.

In the movie Stree 2, it’s worth noting that Sarkata, a character crafted using CGI, appears fearsome on screen. However, it was Sunil Kumar’s real-life portrayal that truly made Sarkata come alive. This time around, Sarkata takes center stage in the storyline, causing panic by kidnapping women who are open-minded and progressive. To combat this danger, the character Stree reappears, maintaining the unique balance of horror and humor that’s become a hallmark of the Stree franchise.

Beyond just Kumar gracing the screen, this flick also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Notably, it’s also got surprise appearances by action hero Akshay Kumar, the charming Varun Dhawan, and the lovely Tamannaah Bhatia in this extension of Maddock’s supernatural realm. To top it off, since its debut on Independence Day, Stree 2 has been a massive success, raking in close to $44 million globally, cementing its position as a blockbuster hit.
