Previously, this distinction belonged to pop icon Taylor Swift, whom she succeeded in 2023. Most notably, Guo co-founded Scale AI, a data annotation company that provides labeled data essential for training artificial intelligence. Established in 2016 by Guo and Alexandr Wang, Scale AI is headquartered in San Francisco.
Guo was born on October 14, 1994, making her currently 30 years old. Raised by Chinese immigrant parents in Fremont, California, she developed an early passion for computer science and coding. This interest led her to attend Carnegie Mellon University to study the subject. However, she received the Thiel Fellowship and a two-year grant worth $100,000, motivating her to leave college before completing her degree.
Over the ensuing years, Guo was employed by tech companies like Facebook and Snapchat. During her tenure at Quora, she met Wang. Approximately two years after Scale AI’s debut, Guo chose to leave the company due to disagreements about the product strategy and plan. In an interview with Forbes, she stated, “I believe Alex has done a fantastic job maintaining the company.” Regrettably, neither Guo nor Wang provided further details regarding their separation.
2022 saw Guo introduce Passes, frequently compared to the likes of OnlyFans and Patreon.
