Initially, Divya Prabha became well-known for her acting in the movies ‘Take Off’ and ‘Thamaasha’. In 2015, she was honored with the Kerala State Television Award. She was distinguished as Best Second Actress and received this award for her performance in the TV series titled ‘Eswaran Sakshiyayi’.
In 2022, she received a Best Actress nomination at the Locarno Film Festival for her role in the critically-acclaimed movie “Ariyippu.” This movie, helmed by Mahesh Narayanan, debuted at the 75th edition of the Locarno Film Festival in the international competition category. The film became globally available on Netflix in 2022.

Divya Prabha’s recent controversy
In a chat with Onmanorama, Divya Prabha discussed the backlash surrounding the release of intimate scenes from her movie All We Imagine As Light online. She admitted that she anticipated such a reaction upon accepting the part.
Nevertheless, she voiced her displeasure about the feedback received from certain individuals in Kerala. Notably, this performer observed a contradiction: while these spectators appreciate international filmmakers and artists for comparable performances, they exhibit intolerance towards Malayali women assuming similar roles.
Despite facing criticism, Divya found comfort in the backing she received from certain individuals, primarily men, who were countering the unfavorable responses. She perceived this support as a sign that the mentality of the upcoming generations might be shifting for the better.
Divya continued by saying, “It’s puzzling to me that the individuals responsible for spreading the leaked videos make up about 10% of our total population. I can’t fathom their thought process. Interestingly, Malayalis were among those who served on the Central Board that granted us approval.
When it comes to acting, I choose scripts that I truly believe in, and I felt completely confident in the role I played in ‘All We Imagine As Light,'” Divya explained.
Apart from Divya Prabha, the film also features Kani Kusruti and Chhaya Kadam in prominent roles.
