Who is Arun Vijay? Actor who co-starred with Ajith Kumar and replaced Suriya in Bala directorial movie Vanangaan

Known widely in the Tamil film industry, Arun Vijay embarked on his acting journey back in 1995. This talented actor happens to be the son of esteemed actor Vijayakumar and his first spouse, Muthukannu.

From the 10th grade onwards, Arun Vijay found himself drawn to acting, inspired by movies and his father’s performances. Yet, due to his father’s encouragement, he finished his school education before embarking on his acting career in films.

Initially, the actor made his debut in Tamil films through the movie “Murai Mappillai,” which was helmed by director Sundar C. This role was given to him when he was 18 years old, making him one of the youngest heroes to start his career in Tamil cinema.

Advancing in his professional journey, the actor later starred in numerous Tamil films such as Priyam, Thulli Thirintha Kaalam, Pandavar Bhoomi, and several others. Remarkably, the movie Pandavar Bhoomi featured him sharing the screen with his father too.

Starting from the 2000s onwards, this actor expanded his repertoire by taking up numerous action films. Yet, it was in the year 2015 that he landed a pivotal role, sharing screen time with the famous Ajith Kumar, in the movie Yennai Arindhaal.

In 2018, a film directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon featured him as the villain. That very year, he made his debut in Telugu films, appearing alongside Ram Charan in the movie “Bruce Lee – The Fighter.

Through the film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, the actor embarked on their first joint project with Mani Ratnam. Subsequently, they portrayed memorable roles in movies such as Thadam, Saaho featuring Prabhas, and numerous other productions.

In the upcoming movie titled “Vanangaan,” the actor will be featured. This film is helmed by director Bala, and originally, Suriya was slated to star as the lead. However, due to multiple revisions in the script, the original lead role has been changed.
