List of every major character who dies in Squid Game Season 2
In the second season of Squid Game, several significant characters met their end, among them were Young Mi, Player 196, and Jeong Bae.
The Salesman (Episode 1)
The Salesman proposes a deadly game of Russian Roulette to Gi-hun, seeming resolute about his victory. Yet, fortune from Gi-hun’s Season 1 win takes over, keeping him alive through each round. In the final turn, instead of conceding defeat, the Salesman tragically decides to end his own life.
Young-mi (Episode 6)
During the game, Young-mi accidentally collides with someone and tumbles to the ground. Later on, their group leader, Hyun Ju, notices that Young-mi is missing and makes a decision to find her. Unfortunately, Player 333, Lee Myeong Gi, swiftly closes the door, effectively ending any hope of rescuing her. Tragically, Young-mi is ultimately gunned down by the guards.
Player 196 (Episode 3)
196th contestant is knocked out in the game of Red Light, Green Light. Skilled participant Gi-hun urges everyone to remain motionless during playtime and refrain from making any movements. Unfortunately, Player 196 disregards his instructions when a bee lands on her neck, causing her to move uncontrollably. Moreover, she couldn’t resist making a joke about the bee, which led to a tragic outcome. The doll then detected her actions and ended her life.
Player 380 / Se Mi (Episode 7)
Initially working together with Se Mi and other team members, Nam Gyu harbored malicious intentions towards her. When she supported ending the games, he became enraged. In the end, his plan was to murder her once the lights were turned off. Min Su tried to rescue Player 380 by hurling a glass bottle, but Nam Gyu successfully killed her instead.
Jeong Bae (Episode 7)
At first, Player 001, known as the Front Man, appears friendly towards Gi-hun and his partner, Jeong Bae, showing a caring side. But when his real persona is exposed, he ends up eliminating Gi-hun’s allies. With no means of defense, the pair has no choice but to yield. However, instead of sparing Jeong Bae, Front Man takes his life, intensifying the situation for Gi-hun and making him understand the potential repercussions of challenging the games and their leaders.
