White Bird Digital Release Date Set for Helen Mirren WWII Movie

As a gamer with a deep affection for movies that tug at the heartstrings and delve into the human spirit, I’m thrilled to hear about the upcoming digital release of “White Bird.” Being no stranger to tales of courage, resilience, and the power of empathy, this film seems right up my alley.

Lionsgate has revealed when you can watch “White Bird” digitally, their new World War II drama that’s linked to the 2017 film “Wonder”. The announcement follows close on the heels of the movie’s theatrical premiere, which starred Helen Mirren and took place less than a month ago.

The plot goes like this: Julian, who’s had difficulties fitting in since his expulsion from school due to his behavior towards Auggie Pullman, is the focus. To change his life, his grandmother shares her past filled with bravery – during World War II, she was saved by a boy in Nazi-occupied France. They develop an intimate relationship in a beautiful, enchanting world they built together, while the boy’s mother takes significant risks to protect her. ‘White Bird’ is an impactful tale that illustrates how empathy towards others can significantly transform the world, even amidst the most challenging situations.

When is the White Bird digital release date?

Starting this Friday, November 1, “White Bird” can be rented or purchased on various digital platforms. The film features Ariella Glaser portraying Sara, Orlando Schwerdt as Julian I, Gillian Anderson as Vivienne, and Helen Mirren in the role of Grandmère. Notably, Bryce Gheisar reappears as Julian Albans from the 2017 movie, where he was initially introduced as a bully.

The movie was helmed by Marc Forster (known for Finding Neverland and Christopher Robin) from a script penned by Mark Bomback, inspired by R.J. Palacio’s 2019 graphic novel of the same name. This production was jointly undertaken by Palacio, Todd Lieberman, and David Hoberman. The executive producers on this project were Jeff Skoll, Robert Kessel, Kevin Downes, Jon Erwin, Andrew Erwin, Renée Wolfe, Alexander Young, Mark Bomback, Kevan Van Thompson, Christopher Woodrow, and Connor DiGregorio.
