2023 saw Emmy Award-winning actor Colman Domingo bid farewell to the role of Victor Strand on Fear the Walking Dead, which he had been playing since 2015. Stephen Belber (previously known for ‘O.G.’ and ‘The Laramie Project’) and VJ Boyd (‘Justified’, ‘S.W.A.T’), co-showrunners, have crafted a gripping conspiracy thriller titled ‘The Madness’ exclusively for Netflix. The series, consisting of eight episodes, debuted on the streaming platform on November 28, perfectly timed for the extended Thanksgiving weekend.

In this story, Domingo plays the character of Muncie Daniels, a media pundit who stumbles upon a murder in the dense woods of the Poconos. Facing accusations of his own guilt, he embarks on a journey to clear his name. To stay alive, he rekindles relationships with his distant family and rediscovers his long-lost values.

New actors joining the cast are Stephanie Blake, known for “When They See Us” and “Orange Is the New Black”, Gabrielle Graham from “Twenties” and “21 Thunder”, John Ortiz who appeared in “Silver Linings Playbook”, Tamsin Topolski of “The Diplomat”, and Thaddeus J. Mixon.

Domingo shared with Netflix that the series poses the following questions to its viewers: “Where did we end up? What actions will we take moving forward? And what steps can we take towards a more balanced future?

Colman Domingo – what’s next?

Domingo has achieved significant recognition for his outstanding performance in the critically praised role of Rustin, a portrayal that garnered him nominations for the Oscar, BAFTA, and SAG awards. Additionally, he played a leading part in Greg Kwedar’s highly anticipated film, Sing Sing, which is creating buzz ahead of the upcoming award season.

In the upcoming biopic about Michael Jackson titled “Michael,” he will take on the role of Joe Jackson, the family patriarch. Additionally, he is set to write, direct, and play the lead character in a Nat King Cole biopic. Notably, he will join an ensemble cast that includes Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Giancarlo Esposito, and Stanley Tucci in the sci-fi adventure “The Electric State,” directed by the Russo brothers. The movie is slated for release on Netflix on March 15, 2023, and is based on Simon Stålenhag’s graphic novel.

By September 2024, it was reported that Domingo was engaged in negotiations for a role in Steven Spielberg’s yet-to-be-titled film, produced by Amblin and Universal. Additionally, he is set to act in Tina Fey’s upcoming television series titled “The Four Seasons”.
