As a seasoned Stalker, with countless hours traversing the desolate landscapes of the Zone under my belt, I can confidently say that the AKM-74 has been a reliable companion on many a perilous journey. However, like any workhorse, it’s always beneficial to have a bit more ammo to handle those tougher encounters with mutants.
In Stalker 2, the AKM-74 is a versatile weapon frequently wielded by various adversaries. Given its widespread usage, it’s a reliable choice for players who trust it. Since both the ammunition and the weapon itself are abundant, this strategy isn’t too risky. However, what would significantly enhance it is an increase in magazine capacity. In tight spots when confronting a horde of mutants, a high-capacity magazine will prove extremely useful.
Where to get the High-Capacity AKM-74 Magazine – Stalker 2
In my gaming world, just to the southeast of Zalyssia lies a massive military stronghold known as The Sphere. If you follow the main wall that encircles this base, you’ll spot a small dip on the north side, where there’s a hidden tunnel. This secret passage is clearly indicated by a green marker on the maps above.
Venture indoors and proceed to the termination of the tunnel, mindful of the acid puddles scattered below. At the tunnel’s end, hidden behind a metal grating in the wall, you’ll discover a corpse from which you can retrieve items through the grating. That’s where you’ll unearth the large-capacity magazine for the AKM-74.
