To successfully complete the “Belly of the Beast” mission in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you will have to locate some important documents hidden within a private dwelling in Kyoto. These sensitive papers are closely guarded, but there’s a stealthy entry point if you can find it.
Where to find the papers in the Belly of the Beast quest
Located in central Kyoto, within the Yamashiro district, stands the grand Nijo Palace. To its south-west lies a secluded private estate, enclosed by walls and dotted with several smaller structures, with a prominent central building as its focal point. This is nestled near the Nanban Temple.
Climb up onto the exterior wall for a vantage point, and take a good look around. You’ll notice a faint, blue glow emanating from within the main structure. That’s where the documents you require can be found.
As an enthusiast, I’d recommend scaling the wall at the southwest corner, then descending into the bamboo and tall grass below. Traverse along the path towards the guard almost directly in front, but slither underneath the house through the opening, continuing until you find a trapdoor that will lift you up and inside it. From this vantage point, you can stealthily make your way into the main room, take out the guard, and retrieve the papers to accomplish your mission.
