As a seasoned Stalker veteran, having braved the treacherous wastelands of the Zone for countless hours, I can confidently say that the elusive Drowned assault rifle is a treasure worth unearthing. With its weathered appearance and hint of rust, this beauty reminds me of my own beaten-up gear – each scratch tells a tale of survival.
In Stalker 2, “The Drowned” is an assault rifle that appears to have been affected by the elements and may not function optimally. However, with a bit of care and some resources, it can be restored to full working condition.
Where to find the Drowned assault rifle in Stalker 2
The Drowned assault rifle can be found just outside the Slag Heap, in Garbage. There is a concrete bridge that runs between two pools of water, where a character called Boo can be found. Talk to him, and he will tell you that he has lost his weapon.
The object in question is situated directly on the ground beneath you, propped up against a chunk of concrete near the water’s edge. However, this item could easily be overlooked because it’s missable. Even if you take up Boo’s small quest for retrieving it, there’s a known glitch where both Boo and the Drowned might vanish, potentially causing the weapon to disappear as well.
When interacting with Boo, head immediately to the pool to get the weapon. Upon your return, you have two options: either hand over the weapon to him or hold onto it yourself. Since there’s no benefit in giving him the weapon, you may as well inform him that you plan on keeping it.
The price to fix it might be significant, but given its exceptional quality and the added feature of an integrated grenade launcher, which can be beneficial in critical situations (albeit the ammunition for this is somewhat scarce).
