As an experienced looter and survivor in the harsh world of Escape from Tarkov, I can confidently say that the quest for Morphine has been a constant battle since day one. The struggle to find this precious item is a rite of passage for every player, and it’s one that I’ve embraced with open arms (or more accurately, open hands).
In the game Escape from Tarkov, “Painkiller” is one of those missions that often leaves players struggling at the beginning. Since morphine can be scarce in the initial stages, here are some spots where you might find it or alternative ways to acquire it.
How to find Morphine
In the game Escape from Tarkov, there are numerous places where Morphine is located. These spots often include any area that drops medical equipment, which includes the medical tents scattered throughout the Tarkov region, med bags, and scavengers. If you wish to produce it yourself, you’ll need to advance Therapist to Level 2 and establish a Level 2 Medstation, but many players find this challenging due to the high level requirement (Level 8) when the quest becomes accessible.
One effective location to search for Morphine is at Customs checkpoints. In your exploration, you’ll navigate towards the bustling construction site, dead center on the map. Here, you’ll come across a fortress undergoing construction, a prominent structure in the area. Inside this half-completed complex, you may discover several medbags and assorted medical supplies scattered around, along with some medical supply crates stationed on the second floor. To the east lies the Crackhouse. Upon entering the ground floor, you’ll encounter a medcase and several duffle bags that could potentially hold valuable items. Loose medical supplies can also be found on the upper floor in the room featuring large windows. Across the corridor, there is also a supply room with a chance of containing various loot on its shelves.
If you require medical supplies, Woods is the location you might want to explore. The Emercom/Container Base situated to the east of the lake often contains medbags and crates filled with medical equipment, usually including what you’re seeking. Given its popularity for such loot, it attracts both PMCs (Private Military Companies) and scavengers. Therefore, stay vigilant when visiting there, particularly as everyone is currently trying to accumulate tripwire grenade kills here.
You might want to explore another location – the Mantis store at Ultra Mall’s central first floor, now functioning as a temporary sickbay. This is where you can gather various medical resources. If you have the necessary key, you can move north from here towards Emercom, another spot overflowing with medical supplies.
