Where To Find Mandrake Growing In The South Of The Horns Region

Mandrake plants can be spotted in their natural habitat, the wilderness, particularly in the forested regions of the central Horns Of The South. Nevertheless, they are rather scarce and not abundant. Interestingly, I managed to discover a few substantial clusters of them near the “Abandoned Village” fast-travel point. This landmark is easily reached by traveling northeast along the King’s Road.

  • From the Abandoned Village marker, start walking west, and you’ll find a patch close to where the stone meets the grass.
  • Follow the King’s Road down from the Abandoned Village marker, and you’ll quickly run into a crumbled section with a steep drop. There is a patch in the area down below.
  • From that patch below the broken section of the King’s Road, head west. Follow the rocky outcrop on your right, and you will encounter another patch a little after passing the Druidic Shrine.

As a devoted admirer, it seems that the common thread in my observations is that the Mandrake plants are typically found near rocky outcrops. Admittedly, this might be based on personal experience rather than hard facts, but throughout my explorations, I’ve yet to come across a mandrake that wasn’t nestled close to such a formation.

Where To Purchase Mandrake

Here are some merchants who offer Mandrake for sale at 4 gold per root. Broc, a character from the “Confrontation Looks Like Hope” quest, is one such vendor. You can typically find him stationed near a bridge in the northern part of the map. However, your progress through the quest and the choices you’ve made may affect his availability to sell Mandrake to you.

Jann is another vendor who can provide you with Mandrake. You can find him within his chambers, nestled in the southern part of the Horns Fortress. Simply make your way towards where your cache is hidden within the fortress, and you’ll come across Jann’s door.

To clarify, the character who consistently carries Mandrake and can be found right from the start of the game is known as O Cuinn Cinnamonsage. If you examine the map, you’ll notice an isolated island area protruding from the southwest side, near where you initially landed on the beach. Swim towards this island, engage and defeat a few Drowners. Upon approaching the back section of the island, you’ll encounter O Cuinn Cinnamonsage. Initiate conversation with him, express your confidence in his humanity, and then inquire about what he has for sale.
