In Monster Hunter Wilds, Dareel in the Windward Plains command tent will task you with capturing an Ember Rufflizard – one more endemic life research mission. Since neither Dareel nor Samin seem to be managing their duties effectively, it’s up to you to venture into another of the Forbidden Lands’ biomes, this time seeking a peculiar and fascinating creature.
As a seasoned hunter in Monster Hunter Wilds, I found myself seeking the elusive Ember Rufflizard. Contrary to Dareel’s vague hints about its location in the Oilwell Basin, here’s a more precise guide for those who aren’t keen on exhaustive exploration or tracking down endemic life:
The Ember Rufflizard can be found at (specific coordinates). Keep an eye out for the scorched earth and the peculiar scent of sulfur, as these are tell-tale signs of its presence. Good luck, fellow hunters!
Monster Hunter Wilds Ember Rufflizard location
15 of the Oilwell Basin is where you’ll discover an Ember Rufflizard, which is one of the lava-filled caverns situated at the map’s base. This place seems to be a favorite for this local species, and its name might have given it away. Remember to stock up on a Cool Drink before venturing down to the bottom level or catch a Chillmantle Bug with your Hook Slinger along the way to prevent getting baked alive by the lava.
The unique lizard stands out – it sports glowing green bumps all over and moves about the region in a little cluster. The optimal spot to encounter this group is near the heart of the cavern. If you don’t find them there, there are typically a pair that linger around crater area 9, so you might also want to search there. Apart from these two spots, I didn’t come across any others during my exploration; however, there could be more hidden elsewhere.
Just like in the last mission, I’ll grip my controller’s left bumper and pick out my capture net from my inventory’s quick access wheel. No need for stealth this time as these fire lizards are quite laid-back. I’ll adjust my aim with the LT button, and when the targeting box turns orange, I’ll press RT to launch and catch one. After that, I’ll bring the newly caught lizard back to Dareel in the Windward Plains base camp.
Your reward is 10 Might Seeds, five honey, and 100 Guild Points
