Interested in learning more about the real-world location of the island featured in MrBeast’s Beast Games and the truth behind its on-screen details? Fans are intrigued by the secrets, production methods, and behind-the-scenes work that transformed this visually striking backdrop. From the breathtaking scenery to the elaborate structures constructed for the series, everyone wants to know more about how this unique environment was created.
Let’s delve into the whereabouts of Beast Games’ island, uncover how it was adapted for filming purposes, and discover fascinating aspects about Beast City.
What is the location of Beast Games’ Island?
The island showcased in the Beast Games on Amazon Prime Video is actually a beautiful, well-known spot called La Vivienda Island, also referred to as Isla La Vivienda.
This island mentioned earlier is part of the Pearl Islands archipelago in Panama, situated around 30 miles south of the mainland. It’s surrounded by sparkling turquoise seas, and its nearby neighbors, Bayoneta and Malaga islands, are not far off. Handy for MrBeast’s reality competition series, the production crew built bungalows, cabanas, and other necessary facilities to accommodate the project’s size.
Moreover, they constructed Beast City, a significant location within the show, to serve as a small-scale town for competitors. The filming was carried out at Downsview Park Studios, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Originally used as a Canadian military base and World War II aircraft manufacturing site, this area now serves as an urban park.
Towards the finale of Downsview Airport, the production crew built Beast City, complete with authentic houses, gardens, and leisure areas. In addition, they designed a defensive feature – a rectangular moat – which encircles the city and is visible in the show’s aerial shots.
In reality, the moat depicted in Beast City isn’t genuine; it was digitally added during post-production. The actual location outside the city features parkland and an airport runway instead. Although the internal infrastructure within Beast City serves the purpose of the series, the surrounding water body you see on screen is a fictional augmentation crafted using visual effects.
You can stream the series “Beast Games” each week on Amazon Prime Video, as fresh episodes become available every Thursday.
