What happened to the exes from Netflix’s Worst Ex Ever?

In Netflix’s show “Worst Ex Ever,” we see how each of the former partners – Benjamin Foster, Jerry Ramrattan, Rosa Hill, and Kevin Lewis – ultimately fare.

Benjamin Foster

In the first episode of the gripping docuseries, “Dating the Devil,” I find myself deeply immersed in the story of Benjamin Foster. The series begins by revealing his shocking abuse against my beloved Justine Siemens. Following this heinous act, Foster eluded authorities early in 2023. As reported by NBC News, he later took the lives of two innocent elderly individuals after holding them captive. Tragically, Foster made his way back to Grant Pass, Oregon – a place that held significance for Justine and me.

Upon suspecting that Benjamin Foster was present, the police visited Justine Siemens’ residence, but their initial search proved unsuccessful. They subsequently returned for a second lookaround and discovered an entry point underneath the house. Removing the floorboards, they found Foster with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head. It is alleged that he had tried to take his own life in order to evade capture and imprisonment. Though he was still breathing upon discovery, he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Jerry Ramrattan

In the second episode, titled “Betrayed by the Badge,” the spotlight falls on Jerry Ramrattan. This particular episode, airing in 2010, delves into his interactions with Seemona Sumasar. Initially, she trusted his claims of being a police officer and detective for Brooklyn’s District Attorney office. However, it was later uncovered that Ramrattan had been deceiving her. When she discovered the truth, she confronted him, leading to an incident where he inappropriately assaulted her.

Subsequently, Sumasar filed charges against Ramrattan, which led to an impending court case. Yet, two months prior to the trial, she was apprehended and transported to Long Island. The unexpected turn of events left Sumasar stunned as she found herself accused of pretending to be a police officer and committing an armed robbery. She harbored suspicions that Jerry Ramrattan orchestrated her arrest in order to tarnish her reputation during the sexual assault trial.

Thankfully, Seemona Sumasar eventually had luck on her side when it was revealed that Ramrattan was the one orchestrating her wrongful arrest. He was later apprehended in 2012 and subsequently convicted for several offenses. Among these charges were first-degree rape, perjury, conspiracy, tampering with a witness, and falsely reporting an incident (third-degree in each case).

Following his conviction, Jerry Ramrattan received a sentence of 32 years behind bars. As stated by Today, he becomes eligible for parole as early as 2031.

Rosa Hill

In the heart-wrenching third episode titled “Killing For Custody,” I found myself delving into the tumultuous marriage between Rosa Hill and me, Eric Hill. Post our union and the arrival of our little bundle of joy, things took a turn for the worse between us. Eventually, she kicked me out of our shared abode. As we fought tooth and nail over our child’s custody, I was compelled to take refuge with my grandmother, Sally.

In the year 2009, upon reaching Sally’s residence, Eric along with his daughter were unexpectedly ambushed by Rosa and her mother Mei, who assaulted Eric with a baton and confined the child in the bathroom. Eric found himself under the constant threat of a gun, scrambling to dodge being shot while moving about.

Upon the police’s arrival, they cuffed everyone without knowledge of Rosa’s actions. Yet, it wasn’t long before Sally was found dead in her backyard shed. It came to light that Rosa and Mei had devised Operation Custody, a plan aimed at gaining custody of Eric’s daughter by orchestrating Sally’s murder, framing him for the crime, and hoping he would take his own life.

According to CBS News, Rosa was convicted of her crimes and received a 25-year-to-life prison term following charges for Sally’s murder and attempted murder of Eric. Similarly, Mei was indicted on premeditated and attempted murder charges and is currently serving a life sentence as well. The official records indicate that both Rosa and Mei will become eligible for parole in 2029.

Kevin Lewis

In Episode 4 titled “Married to a Monster,” we delve into the life of Kevin Lewis, who wed Amanda Canales and together they started a family. Regrettably, their relationship took an appalling turn when Kevin attacked Amanda, leaving her family stunned. Remarkably, Canales chose not to file charges the initial time.

Following another attack by Lewis, Canales decided to press charges against him. She successfully kept custody of their children, and he was obliged to provide spousal support. Unfortunately, the situation took a turn for the worse in 2017 when her sister Alisha was fatally shot outside her home.

According to CBS News, it emerged that Kevin Lewis orchestrated a plan to kill Amanda Canales. He enlisted his cousin Jerradon Phelps and Phelps’ girlfriend, Alexis Hale, to carry out the deed. Unfortunately, at the time of the incident, Canales was away, leading Phelps and Hale to mistakenly murder Alisha instead. Subsequently, they were indicted for aggravated first-degree murder with a firearm and conspiring to commit murder.

Lewis was accused not only of first-degree murder but also of conspiring to carry out a murder and attempting to arrange for one. Currently, he is incarcerated with a lifetime prison term.
