As a long-time iZombie fanatic who has devoured countless brains (or episodes) over the years, I must admit that the news of its impending departure from Netflix has left me feeling more undead than usual. The thought of losing access to this brilliant show is as unsettling as a zombie apocalypse and just as avoidable, in my humble opinion.

Fans of iZombie are eager to find out when and why the series will be removed from Netflix. It’s understandable that they would be curious about this, as it is common for TV shows and films to appear and then disappear from Netflix due to different streaming and distribution agreements.

When is iZombie leaving Netflix?

Why is iZombie leaving Netflix?

Due to the conclusion of their licensing deal, IZombie will no longer be available on Netflix. This is because the original network, The CW, opted not to extend the agreement after it ended.

2011 marked the beginning of a streaming partnership between Netflix and The CW. This agreement was extended in 2016, enabling Netflix users to stream entire seasons of The CW shows eight days after each season’s finale. However, as reported by Deadline, neither party chose to renew this deal in 2019.

iZombie is a television series created by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero. Thomas, known for his work on Veronica Mars, Party Down, and 90210, is the co-creator. The plot revolves around a former medical student who becomes a zombie. In order to maintain her humanity, she takes up a job at a coroner’s office, where she consumes brains of the deceased.

After consuming every brain, she gains access to its stored memories. This newfound knowledge helps her unravel the mysteries surrounding the deaths of those individuals. Alongside a medical examiner and police officer, she navigates her way through the investigative process.

In a starring role for the series iZombie is Rose McIver, portraying Liv Moore. Accompanying her are fellow cast members such as David Anders, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, along with some additional players.
