The streaming service opted to break the new season of the hit teen adventure drama into two parts. But the wait isn’t long at all!
It’s disappointing for those who prefer to consume the entire Pogues’ story at once, but it’s beneficial for those who appreciate stretching out their experience with the group. This season, the adventurers anticipate indulging in a luxurious lifestyle following El Dorado. However, an unexpected financial setback leads them to agree on a quest to find Blackbeard’s treasure instead.
Once more, John B and his team find themselves over their heads against formidable adversaries and facing dangerous predicaments, as the risks escalate. Unlike some series that make us wait months between seasons, Netflix isn’t keeping us waiting too long this time! Only 28 days separate the release of part 1 and part 2. So let’s gear up, grab some popcorn, and get ready to dive back into the thrilling world of the Outer Banks!
In the fourth season, “Outer Banks” will be divided into parts for the first time, with episodes released incrementally instead of all at once, as was previously done. This approach has been experimented with on various Netflix shows, such as “Bridgerton” and “Emily in Paris,” possibly due to a need arising after production strikes or as an innovative method to extend the narrative of these highly bingeable and widely popular series.
It’s important to mention that not every Netflix series, which have been divided into two parts previously, continue this pattern in the future. For example, the second season of “The Lincoln Lawyer,” split into halves during summer 2023, but when the third season comes out in October, all episodes will be released as a whole. Thus, it’s possible that the series “OBX” may not always follow this pattern in the future.
