When Ram Charan recalled how it was growing up as Chiranjeevi's son; ‘My father brought me up in such a way...’

As an ardent admirer of Ram Charan, I can’t help but be captivated by his unique journey in the world of cinema. Growing up as the son of a megastar like Chiranjeevi could have been daunting for anyone, yet, Ram Charan managed to carve out his own path with remarkable grace and determination.

Ram Charan is an actor who continues to honor his family’s cinematic legacy in a distinctive manner, having carved out his own path in the film industry without relying on special favors from his famous father, Chiranjeevi. In reminiscing about his past during an earlier interview, the actor discussed his upbringing as the son of a celebrated star.

In March 2022, during the promotion of the movie RRR, I shared insights about my childhood and growing-up years. I explained how, despite being born into a family deeply rooted in cinema, I didn’t have much initial exposure to the world of films. It was my father, Chiranjeevi, who purposefully kept his work separate from our home life.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: Growing up in a film family didn’t mean the world of cinema seeped into my home. My father meticulously kept our living space devoid of any work-related discussions about movies, magazines, or awards. The industry, fans, and all associated matters were strictly office affairs. For me, there was no hint of films in my upbringing.

In addition, RC shared an anecdote about the occasion when he sought valuable acting guidance from Chiranjeevi.

After the release of his debut movie, the actor from Magadheera revealed that he immediately sought advice from his father. However, Chiranjeevi, in a simple yet profound manner, encouraged him to carve out his unique path and prioritize his personal journey over everything else.

Without argument or dispute, RC is undeniably a veteran and authentic actor within the realm of pan-Indian cinema, having faced numerous peaks and valleys in his professional journey. In a previous conversation with Times of India, Ram candidly discussed his strategies for coping with the inherent tension associated with each eagerly awaited production.

RC shared, “I have an unusual trait – I’m not good at handling stress. Instead of letting failures get to me, I throw parties. This keeps me grounded and I find joy in both successes and setbacks by cherishing the experience and the trip along the way.”

Regarding his upcoming projects, Ram Charan is looking forward to the release of “Game Changer,” expected to hit theaters in September 2024.
