When Rajinikanth reacted to rumored rivalry with Thalapathy Vijay; ‘He grew up in front of my eyes’

As someone who has grown up watching the magic of Tamil cinema unfold, I have been a witness to the incredible journey of two titans – Rajinikanth and Thalapathy Vijay. Their camaraderie, off-screen, has always been as captivating as their on-screen personas. The recent misunderstanding about their supposed rivalry was nothing more than a tempest in a teapot.

There have been many instances of feuds in Indian cinema between two actors, and one such disagreement arose between Rajinikanth and Thalapathy Vijay. This dispute originated when a comment made by the veteran actor was misinterpreted, leading him to compare crows and eagles. Although Rajinikanth’s statement seemed general at first, it didn’t take long for people to assume that he was criticizing Thalapathy Vijay indirectly with this comparison.

Due to numerous disagreements among their fans, whispers of rivalry and speculation began circulating, suggesting intense competition between the two individuals.

Nevertheless, the genuine connection between Rajinikanth and Vijay transcended the trivialities of that issue. Later, during the release of the film Lal Salaam, the veteran actor clarified such unfounded speculations.

Reflecting on my past, I can’t help but remember watching Thalapathy Vijay grow from a young boy into the talented actor he is today. Contrary to what some might believe, there was never any sense of rivalry between us. In fact, our paths crossed when Vijay was just 13 years old, and I had the pleasure of getting to know him then.

In simpler terms, the person shared that “Vijay’s life unfolded before my eyes. Many of the older films were filmed at Vijay’s house. When Vijay was 13 years old, he was introduced to me by filmmaker SA Chandrasekar. The filmmaker asked me to tell Vijay to focus on his studies initially. I suggested that he should finish his schooling first.”

Additionally, Rajinikanth explained that his comments regarding the tale of crows and eagles were greatly distorted and not intended for Vijay in any manner. He also urged people to refrain from drawing such unwarranted and groundless conclusions about him and the Lion constellation.

After the discussion was concluded, Rajinikanth conveyed his good wishes for Thalapathy Vijay, saying, “It’s unfortunate to hear that we are being compared. Vijay himself has acknowledged this and so have I. I consider him as my friend. Let it be clear that there is no competition between us.”

In terms of professional endeavors, Rajinikanth will soon appear in the film titled Vettaiyan. Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay looks forward to the launch of his future project, The Greatest Ever Made.
