In simpler terms, Prabhas is well-known for his significant influence within the Southern film industry and enjoys a large fan base nationwide. However, despite being called the ‘Young Rebel Star’ by his admirers, he confessed that this title makes him uneasy.
In 2023, the actor from Baahubali, during an interview with 123 Telugu, expressed his discomfort with being referred to as ‘Young Rebel Star’. He prefers not to have this title preceding his name.
Nevertheless, although he seems reluctant, people persist in using the title for him, and Prabhas agrees to this as he doesn’t want to let down his admirers.
Prabhas expressed, ” frankly, I don’t feel at ease with titles. If given the choice, I would just be known as Prabhas. Initially, I attempted to persuade my friends to abandon ‘Young Rebel Star,’ instead opting for ‘Mirchi.’ However, they convinced me otherwise, stating that my fans cherish that title and didn’t want to let them down. In the end, I agreed because my fans mean everything to me, and their preferences are what matter most to me.
During the continuation of the interview, the star of Salaar opened up about his film selection process. He made it clear that he has no interest in art films, often referred to as parallel cinema, and prefers instead to stick with heartwarming entertainments.
As a die-hard admirer, I’d like to share that during our chat, the talented Prabhas confided in me about his cinematic journey. Throughout his illustrious career, he’s tackled action thrillers and lighthearted entertainers galore. Yet, this dedicated artist yearns for something different, aiming to steer clear of back-to-back films within the same genre without introducing intriguing variations.
Instead of the string of action movies, he grew tired and chose to work on films such as “Darling” and “Mr. Perfect.
Currently, Prabhas boasts a impressive roster of upcoming films. These include the action-thriller “Fauji” directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, as well as the cop drama “Spirit”, helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Apart from that, he’s going to delve into the horror-comedy genre for the first time, collaborating with Maruthi on the project titled “The Raja Saab.” Furthermore, Prabhas is planning to step into the mythological genre as well, working with Prasanth Varma in an upcoming film.
