When Nayanthara refused to work in a Shah Rukh Khan film 10 years ago that went on to become a MASSIVE hit

As a lifestyle expert reflecting on Nayanthara’s journey, I find it fascinating to delve into the intricacies of her career and personal life. While her Bollywood debut with Jawan was undeniably a success, it’s equally intriguing to ponder what could have been when she was offered a role in Chennai Express a decade ago.

Initially, actress Nayanthara had the chance to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in a Hindi movie a decade back, but it never came to fruition. However, her actual Bollywood debut happened with the film “Jawan,” which proved to be a massive success and broke multiple box office records.

Initially, Nayanthara was invited to join Chennai Express’ cast, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, with a special role. Instead, Rohit Shetty asked her to perform in the popular tune “One Two Three Four.” However, because of personal matters, she regrettably couldn’t accept the offer. Eventually, Priyamani took her place for that song.

According to certain accounts, it’s believed that Nayanthara declined the role due to her breakup with Prabhudeva. The fact that the song was choreographed by Prabhudeva’s brother Raju might have given her additional reasons for refusing the part.

Ten years after, she embarked on her Bollywood journey, starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the movie “Jawan”. Vijay Sethupathi played the antagonist, while Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra also had significant roles in this production.

In conversation with Hello magazine about her collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan on the film “Jawan”, Nayanthara expressed that she had an enjoyable experience. She shared, “Beyond his massive stardom, I hold in high regard his strong respect for women… I felt confident that ‘Jawan’ would leave a significant impression. After being in the industry for quite some time, you develop a sense of when a movie will resonate and when it won’t.

Actress Nayanthara was most recently in Annapoorani, a movie that debuted on Netflix. Upcoming projects for her include The Test alongside R Madhavan, as well as a romantic film titled Mannangatti: Since 1960, which she is preparing for release with co-stars Kavin and Dude Vicky. Additionally, Yogi Babu will play a significant role in this production.
