When Nagarjuna revealed he was done with ‘conventional romantic roles’ and wouldn’t do that in his 60s; ‘I can't be running around trees…’

As a dedicated follower of Nagarjuna Akkineni’s career and personal journey, I find myself deeply moved by his candid reflections on work, life, and love. His decision to reduce romantic roles as he approaches his 60s is a testament to his evolution as an artist and a person. It’s heartening to see him embrace change and carve out a new path for himself, especially when considering the legacy he has built in Telugu cinema.

Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has captured the affection of viewers through several successful romantic movies. Yet, during an interview, he subtly expressed a desire to minimize playing such characters as he reached his sixties.

In a previous chat with Zoom, Nagarjuna Akkineni openly discussed various aspects of his life. Interestingly, this accomplished actor expressed alterations in his viewpoints towards work and life as he approached his sixties. It was quite unexpected when the Siva star mentioned his desire to reduce the number of romantic roles he takes on.

Nagarjuna expressed, “I’ve had enough of typical romantic roles. Chasing each other under the blossoming trees is no longer for me. My two sons have become leading actors in Telugu cinema, and interestingly, they are working alongside the same actresses I am.”

As I continue my journey, I’ve shared a truth: My sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni, share my profession. Yet, instead of molding them in my image, I encourage them to excel on their own terms. I don’t wish for them to follow my path, but rather, to carve their unique paths in this industry.

In my role as a mentor, I don’t force my views upon others. Instead, I guide them, providing advice when asked. Their freedom is paramount, and I encourage them to make their own choices. I don’t aspire for them to replicate my life; rather, I hope they absorb the positive aspects from my experiences while discarding the rest.

Apart from various topics, Nagarjuna was inquired about the significant person in his life, his wife Amala Akkineni, and the unwavering love they share even now. In response, the actor humorously likened their relationship to another famous couple, Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar.

The actor from Hello Brother expressed, “It seems the romantic atmosphere of Hyderabad is what keeps relationships strong, like Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar’s enduring love. I consider myself fortunate to have Amala as my partner for life. Perhaps I’ve done something right in my past to deserve her.”

In terms of his professional endeavors, Nagarjuna Akkineni is currently involved in several intriguing projects that are yet to be released. Among them is the movie ‘Kubera’, which stars Dhanush as the lead actor.

In addition, the seasoned actor made a notable appearance when he took on a crucial role in Rajinikanth’s film, Coolie.
