When MAD actor Sangeeth Shobhan recalled seeing Mahesh Babu after years on Maharshi sets, ‘What a presence he has…’

In a past conversation, actor Sangeeth Shobhan, who worked as an assistant director on the film Maharshi, recounted his feelings upon reuniting with Mahesh Babu after many years on set. During a chat with Permit Room in a more recent podcast, he shared stories from those days working on the movie.

During our chat, the actor shared that he served as the last assistant director in Mahesh Babu’s film. Interestingly, this was Vamsi Padipally’s production, and he had previously worked as an assistant director (AD) on Varsham. Leveraging this connection, his mother reached out to Vamsi when it was time for the actor to fulfill an internship requirement. Consequently, he joined the shoot for a month.

Years have passed since then, yet the anticipation never dwindled. Finally, in Dehradun, there I was, face-to-face with Mahesh garu himself. Despite his hectic schedule, we couldn’t interact much, but simply being near him was awe-inspiring. His presence is nothing short of astonishing, leaving me utterly speechless and struck by his striking good looks.

Apart from reminiscing about it, Sangeeth mentioned that he was meeting Mahesh Babu again after such a long time. This encounter occurred following Mahesh’s collaboration with Sangeeth’s father, Director Sobhan, in the movie Bobby, many years ago. For those who may not know, Sangeeth Shobhan is the younger child of the late filmmaker Sobhan, renowned for directing movies such as Varsham featuring Prabhas and Chanti starring Ravi Teja during that era.
