When Kamal Haasan’s ex Gautami announced end of their 13-year-old relationship, calling it ‘devastating’

Kamal Haasan and actress-politician Gautami have been together in a significant relationship since 2005. Over time, they functioned as a team. However, after Gautami declared their separation, they ended their 13-year union officially.

In a blog post from the past, Gautami shared her sad news: “Unfortunately, I must confirm today that I and Mr. Haasan are no longer a couple. After more than a decade together, this was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make in my life.

Back in 2016, I, being an ardent fan, couldn’t help but express my thoughts when Kamal Haasan commented on the actress’s decision to leave her longtime partner, the actor. In a heartfelt chat with Deccan Chronicle, he not only acknowledged her choice but also emphasized its significance over his own feelings.

According to Kamal Haasan’s own words, he expressed that whatever brings Gautami and Subbu peace and contentment is acceptable to him. At this moment, his feelings hold no significance compared to their comfort and joy. He wishes for them to realize that he stands by them whenever they need him. Moreover, he feels incredibly fortunate to be the father of three daughters, Shruti, Akshara, and Subbulakshmi, considering himself the most blessed father in the world.

In case you didn’t know, Gautami Tadimalla got married to Sandeep Bhatia, a businessman, in 1998. However, their marriage lasted only a year, ending in 1999. Despite the short-lived union, they have a daughter named Subbulakshmi together.

In 2005, Gautami entered into a relationship with her longtime colleague and friend Kamal Haasan, which lasted until 2016. Throughout the years, they worked together in multiple films and eventually starred alongside each other in the 2015 film Papanasam, a Tamil remake of Mohanlal’s Drishyam.

Kamal Haasan has been through two marriages during his lifetime. His initial marriage with Vani Ganapathy continued for a decade. Subsequently, in 1988, he tied the knot with actress Sarika Thakur following the birth of their first child, Shruti Haasan. Unfortunately, this relationship also ended in divorce in 2004.

Regarding Kamal Haasan’s upcoming projects, he will soon star alongside Silambarasan TR in the film titled “Thug Life.” This movie, masterfully directed by Mani Ratnam, is an intense gangster action flick scheduled to hit theaters on June 5, 2025.
