When Kamal Haasan addressed romancing heroines half his age on-screen; ‘It’s not that difficult’

Kamal Haasan, a renowned movie star from India, boasts an impressive career spanning multiple film industries and their respective languages. His extensive body of work over the years speaks volumes without needing any confirmation. In an earlier interview, this esteemed actor addressed the recurring discussion in the entertainment world of all languages regarding senior actors dating younger actresses on screen.

During a conversation with NDTV, Kamal Haasan clarified that he’s always been open to collaborating with younger actresses, whether on set or off, and this remains true for him today, regardless of the context.

Additionally, he pointed out that because cinema serves as an artistic reflection of reality, it shouldn’t be hard to depict similar events on the movie screen, as these incidents are part of everyday life.

Previously, before Kamal Haasan, Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi had confronted the same misconception about elderly actors collaborating with actresses who are significantly younger. In an earlier conversation with Rediff, the Viduthalai star shared his thoughts on whether he felt uncomfortable working alongside younger co-stars.

In reply, Vijay emphasized that to him, the age of his co-actress isn’t significant because it’s the job they do and their overall performance that truly counts, ultimately making a difference.

Returning to the topic of Kamal Haasan, there’s been recent buzz due to his forthcoming movie titled “Thug Life.” In this project, he’s teamed up once more with director Mani Ratnam. Most recently, Kamal Haasan was featured in the film “Indian 2.”

The AR Rahman-composed musical “Thug Life” features a stellar cast including Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Abhirami, Nassar, Chetan, Mahesh Manjrekar, and more in significant roles.
