When Hrithik Roshan recalled working with Rajinikanth as a child in Bhagwaan Dada; 'He forgave a lot of things I must have done'

As someone who has had the privilege of following and appreciating the magical journey of Indian cinema, I have always held a special place in my heart for the legendary actor Rajinikanth. Having grown up admiring his electrifying performances, it was an unforgettable experience to learn that I once shared the screen with this iconic figure during my childhood days on Bhagwaan Dada.

There’s no need to introduce who Rajinikanth is – he’s a global icon and beloved by fans around the world. Many actors from the Indian film industry have expressed their admiration for him, including Kajol, Salman Khan, Suriya, and others. Even Hrithik Roshan, when discussing his past work, spoke fondly of collaborating with Rajinikanth in Bhagwaan Dada back in 1986.

During an interview for his movie Kaabil in 2017, Hrithik Roshan shared his experience collaborating with Rajinikanth under the direction of J. Om Prakash. He expressed, “When it comes to Rajinikanth sir, I’m left speechless. As a kid, I felt like he was my friend in Bhagwaan Dada. He showed great kindness because he knew I was just a child and overlooked things I might have done or said back then.

Furthermore, during filming, Rajinikanth, the War actor, admitted that when the director halted production due to his own missteps in lines, he would apologize, giving the impression that the error was his own and sparing Hrithik from feeling guilty about any mistakes made during takes. “Rajini sir often said, ‘I’m sorry, I messed up.’ He accepted responsibility for himself, making me believe it wasn’t my fault,” Hrithik Roshan reminisced fondly.

On the occasion of Rajinikanth receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2021, Hrithik Roshan, who acted alongside him in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, took to social media to express his congratulations and share a touching message. Here’s what he posted: [Insert the post below]

Roshan posted an endearing old photo, captioned with, “My dearest @rajinikanth Sir… Your charisma and presence perfectly match the honor of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. It brings me joy to have another excuse to cheer for your legend. Sending you lots of affection and admiration as I continue to be inspired by your greatness.

It’s so heartwarming to see such a beautiful bond between the two, isn’t it?
