It’s been clarified that Savannah Guthrie will not be leaving The Today Show. On March 17, 2025, while she was away from the broadcast, she confirmed via an “Out of office” message accompanied by a picture of a Rummikub game that she was simply on vacation.

Last week, Savannah mentioned that she was going on a vacation, so no speculations about her absence were needed. Later, she resumed co-anchoring with Mike Tirico, while Craig Melvin took some time off in April 2025. However, it’s important to note that Melvin is not leaving The Today Show and is expected to return after his brief hiatus.

In a chat with Us Weekly in February 2025, Guthrie expressed her thoughts about her future, stating, “I’ve realized I have an amazing job and an incredible team – both on-screen and off. We’re doing significant work that’s also enjoyable. The future is uncertain, but I’m open to it while being very content. Right now, my main priority is the Today show, which I consider the finest workplace in TV.

In July 2012, following Ann Curry’s departure, Guthrie took over as co-anchor. Initially working alongside Matt Lauer, she then co-anchored with Hoda Kotb until January 2025 when Kotb decided to leave. Reflecting on her decision, Guthrie expressed, “I’m heartbroken, but I’m also thrilled for her and proud of her… She said, ‘I’m going to take a chance.’
