In the latest episode of “FBI: Most Wanted,” titled “Gut Job,” Roxy Stenberg’s character, Sheryll Barnes, experienced a significant change. A job offer was extended that would keep Barnes within the FBI but station her elsewhere, leaving New York City behind. This has sparked speculation among fans as to whether Barnes is saying goodbye to the New York Fugitive Task Force she’s been connected with for some time and preparing for a move to an unfamiliar location.
So is Sheryll Barnes leaving the FTF in FBI: Most Wanted? Here is what we know on the matter.
Is Roxy Stenberg’s Sheryll Barnes leaving FBI: Most Wanted?
Sheryll Barnes hasn’t definitively made up her mind about departing from the Fugitive Task Force within FBI: Most Wanted.
In the movie “Gut Job,” Barnes is prominently featured, occupying a significant portion of the screen time. She’s portrayed wrestling with the challenges of her deteriorating marriage and her family relocating. These troubles become so overwhelming that she prioritizes spending time with her daughter over a date.
Eventually, it comes to light that Barnes was notified about a job opportunity. This role would require her to stay with the FBI but move from New York to Washington, D.C., where she’d be handling desk work. The application deadline for this position, which is April 11, 2025, is fast approaching if the series follows real-time events. If Barnes decides to take on this role, she would be based at the FBI headquarters in the Hoover Building in Washington, D.C., where she’d serve as a Task Force Supervisor.
In addition, this position requires working with the Criminal Investigative Division branch in Washington, D.C. Here, her responsibilities include overseeing all Violent Crime Task Forces and aligning investigative tactics across related field offices.
Barnes went to the Special Activities Center to talk about possibly quitting the Fugitive Task Force. Yet, she didn’t promise to apply for the position of Task Force Supervisor. She confided in Isobel, played by Alana De La Garza, that they should keep their discussion about a new job opportunity confidential. Isobel offered her wholehearted backing and said she would recommend Barnes for the post.
Despite Barnes declining the offer for the Task Force Supervisor position in Washington, D.C., there are several appealing advantages that make it an enticing proposal. For one, accepting this role would bring Barnes closer to her family. Additionally, she stands to gain a potential promotion and a salary increase with this opportunity.
