As a die-hard Outlander fan, I can’t help but feel my heart racing at the prospect of what Season 7B has in store for us! Lord John Grey, who was previously a secondary character, seems to be taking center stage this season, and I couldn’t be more excited.
In the seventh season of “Outlander”, we have a diverse group of characters taking center stage, with Lord John Grey being one you shouldn’t miss.
In earlier seasons, Lord John Grey has mainly made brief appearances, but in the novels “An Echo in the Bone” and “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood“, he takes on larger roles and it seems that some of those storylines will be developed further during this season.
Absolutely, by doing this we’ll be exploring the plotlines from the books, which means some book-related surprises might be revealed. Not every plotline from the books will be covered, as there simply isn’t enough time, but let’s delve into potential outcomes for Lord John Grey.
Lord John Grey gets married in Outlander Season 7B
In the upcoming season 7B of Outlander, it’s quite likely we’ll witness a marriage taking place. The character Lord John Grey is set to tie the knot, but not with just anyone. His bride will be none other than Claire Fraser!
Initially, Claire is currently in Scotland alongside Jamie. However, an unexpected turn of events occurs when Claire returns to America without Jamie who later joins her. During her stay in Philadelphia, she encounters Lord John Grey again, this time for a need to perform surgery on his nephew. Meanwhile, as Claire attends to this matter, Jamie prepares to return to America, but the ship he boards sinks before he reaches America’s shores.
In summary, John and Claire share the belief that Jamie met his demise at sea. Additionally, Captain Richardson menaces to apprehend Claire as a suspected spy. To safeguard Claire, John wedges her in matrimony. Consequently, they do indeed fulfill their marital union. Throughout this act, both of them harbor thoughts about Jamie.
Lord John Grey and Jamie Fraser end their friendship in Outlander
Indeed, Jamie isn’t deceased. Upon discovering his wife married to Lord John Grey, Jamie feels enraged. The anger might have been more manageable if not for the knowledge that Lord John Grey had an affair with his wife while still having feelings for him. It’s a heavy burden Jamie carries, leading him to viciously attack Lord John Grey in retaliation.
It appears that the plot of Outlander Season 7B may involve Lord John Grey, as there’s a scene showing him wearing an eyepatch in the season teaser.
It’s an end to their friendship. For now.
Lord John Grey sees a man from his past in Outlander Season 7B
Amidst all the current events, it’s quite possible to miss the thread of Percy Beauchamp’s story. Although I suspect time might not permit its full exploration, it’s still significant enough to bring up. Percy is an old friend of John’s who has traveled to America in search of Fergus. It seems that Fergus could potentially be the son of Comte St. Germain, which would make him an heir to a substantial fortune.
In the ninth book’s narrative, John chooses not to aid Percy. Consequently, Percy decides to seek out Fergus independently. Unfortunately for Percy, this decision results in his capture by Captain Richardson. Although some parts of this plotline are likely to unfold, the specific details remain unclear. For now, we won’t delve into these events, as they will be part of Outlander Season 8. It is possible to explore Captain Richardson’s story without focusing on Percy.
William learns the truth about Jamie in Outlander
Besides both Jamie and John having a falling-out, it’s also the case that William and John have fallen out. This newfound knowledge that Jamie is actually William’s biological father causes him to question things deeply. As a result, he forces Lord John Grey away, feeling betrayed by the years of deception.
John will simply let William find him, as he’s a patient man who deeply cherishes William. In essence, their bond goes beyond just names, as John now serves as a father figure to William. The evolving narrative between them is set to unfold further in Outlander during Season 7B. It’s inevitable that the truth will eventually come out and the consequences that follow will be part of the storyline.
Outlander Season 7B premieres on Friday, Nov. 22 on Starz.
