What was Tommy's confession and what happened in 911 season 8, episode 6?

As a long-time fan of 911, I found the latest episode to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The confessions between Buck and Tommy were unexpected, but that’s what makes this show so captivating.

In the 8th season’s 6th episode of “911”, the story revolved around confessions. Tommy had a significant one for Buck, but what were the consequences of his revelation?

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for 911 season 8, episode 6.

To celebrate their six-month milestone, Buck and Tommy decided to dine out. During their conversation about previous relationships, Tommy made an unexpected revelation: he was already engaged to a woman.

In a somewhat unexpected turn of events, it wasn’t just any woman; she was Abby. This revelation left Buck in a peculiar predicament, as he found it odd that his Abby was also known as Tommy’s. However, with Maddie and Josh’s assistance, he navigated through this unusual situation.

Buck asked Tommy to move in with him in 911

In the end, Buck revealed a personal secret to Tommy. He confessed about Abby, explaining how she had been the most significant turning point in his life – a transformation unlike any other, until his relationship with Tommy. Prior to Abby, he had been moving from one woman to another without considering commitment. However, Abby altered that pattern of his life.

Now, Tommy has altered things so they are no longer opposed to him. He concluded his speech by inviting Tommy to live with him.

Tommy broke up with Buck in 911 season 8, episode 6

For people who weren’t fond of the duo formed by Tommy and Buck, it will bring them joy to learn they’ve split up. However, this breakup is a bit disheartening because as a fan who admired Tommy’s transformation from Hen’s backstory, I found their dynamic intriguing. Similarly, I enjoyed witnessing someone genuinely care for Buck.

Tommy’s choice not to live with Buck wasn’t because he didn’t care for him deeply. Instead, it stemmed from a fear of the potential outcome. Tommy understands how their relationship might unfold – he’d move in, and eventually, Buck could unintentionally cause harm, leading to their separation. To prevent this painful scenario, Tommy made the decision to avoid moving in together.

Instead of putting himself at risk for getting hurt, Tommy chose to inflict pain on Buck. By the end of the episode, they were no longer together. Could it be possible that Tommy will return seeking forgiveness in the future?

I do want to put it out there that I know there are going to be fans happy that the relationship has come to an end. Can I just remind everyone that there is a real man behind this character? Can people please be more respectful to Lou Ferringo Jr. There’s no need for the toxicity online that I’ve been seeing.

911 airs Thursday at 8/7c on ABC. Catch up the following day on Hulu.
