What to watch on Netflix this week (Aug. 26-30): Adam Sandler, Worst Ex Ever, and more

As a hardcore gamer who spends most of his free time immersed in virtual worlds, I can definitely say that August has been a rollercoaster ride of entertainment with Netflix leading the charge. This week is no exception, and it’s got me excited for the upcoming releases!

This is the final complete week of August, a month brimming with fantastic new Netflix content. Over the past few weeks, the streaming platform has rolled out fresh seasons of beloved series like “The Umbrella Academy,” “Unstable,” and “Emily in Paris.” Additionally, it has premiered popular films and documentaries such as “The Union” and “American Murder: The Laci Peterson Story.”

Despite a relatively smaller number of new releases (only 10 titles) coming to Netflix this week, there’s still an abundance of exceptional movies and shows waiting to be added to our viewing lists. Given the recent surge in series from AMC last week, this week offers the ideal opportunity to get up-to-date on what you’ve missed or give some fresh Netflix originals a try.

As we approach the final week of August, several holdover titles are still holding strong in the top 10. These include popular series like “A Discovery of Witches” and “Dark Winds,” as well as newer shows such as “The Accident” and “Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War.” However, what new entries will join them in the top 10 this week?

This week, check out these top four fresh Netflix premieres that I have listed for you starting with Adam Sandler’s latest stand-up comedy show.

What to watch on Netflix this week (Aug. 26-30): Adam Sandler, Worst Ex Ever, and more

Adam Sandler: Love You

As Adam Sandler is busy filming “Happy Gilmore 2” for Netflix, he’s set to premiere his new stand-up comedy special titled “Adam Sandler: Love You” on August 27th. In this special, directed by Josh Safdie, Sandler showcases his relaxed humor style and even performs a few tunes on stage.

This comedian and actor is now on his second stand-up comedy special on Netflix, following “Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh” in 2018. For almost a decade, he has been consistently creating original content with Netflix, showing no signs of reducing his pace. If you’re looking for a good laugh this week, this is definitely worth checking out!

Worst Ex Ever

Instead of enjoying laughter-filled stand-up comedy, brace yourself for chills as the true crime documentary series “Worst Ex Ever” debuts on Aug 28. It’s bound to give you goosebumps!

This new series, hailing from the same creators as the nerve-wracking “Worst Roommate Ever,” delves into a related yet distinct territory – dating disasters. Just like its roommate counterpart, it features real-life tales of horror that you’ll remember for quite some time. Given its raw and intense content, this four-episode documentary series may not be suitable for the sensitive or faint-hearted viewers, so tread carefully before diving into a binge-watching session!

Terminator Zero

If you’re a fan of the Terminator films, you might want to check out Netflix’s upcoming anime series, Terminator Zero, debuting on August 29th. This series revolves around a soldier and a scientist who work together to prevent an AI entity called Skynet from launching an assault in the future. It promises to be a heart-pounding, action-packed, and undoubtedly emotional journey. Make sure not to miss a moment when it arrives this week!

Breathless

If you’re eagerly waiting for fall to bring back your favorite medical dramas, consider giving “Breathless,” a new Spanish medical drama premiering on Netflix on Aug 30, a try. It’s an excellent choice if you enjoy shows similar to “Grey’s Anatomy,” “New Amsterdam,” and “The Resident.”

The narrative unfolds in the bustling emergency room of a city hospital, where the atmosphere is tense and the team works in tight quarters. Yet, when a prominent patient arrives, the intricacies of urban healthcare are exposed, placing the staff in a challenging predicament. This gripping eight-episode series hails from the minds behind Elite, promising plenty of passion and high-stakes drama!
