What to expect for Young Ian in Outlander Season 7B based on the books

As a gamer who has binge-watched more Outlander than I’ve played hours of Fortnite, let me tell you, the anticipation for Season 7B is almost as exhilarating as leveling up to the next tier! Young Ian, oh boy, his journey is about to take a dramatic turn.

In the upcoming half of Outlander Season 7, there will be several significant plot developments. Given the progression of the stories in the novels, young Ian seems likely to be involved in many of these.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that we’re venturing deeper into the captivating world of Outlander! In Season 7B, we’ll delve further into ‘An Echo in the Bone’, and even step into ‘Written in My Own Heart’s Blood’. While Roger and Bree’s tale has already drawn upon the eighth book, it’s about time we bring that rich narrative to life in the 18th century storyline.

Absolutely, we’re diving into potential plot points from the series for this discussion. To steer clear of these, simply move on! Let’s explore the possible developments for Young Ian in the upcoming episodes of ‘Outlander’ Season 7B.

Young Ian returns to America in Outlander Season 7B

One thing we can expect in the upcoming episodes is that Young Ian will return to America, having just arrived in Scotland currently. Though this isn’t his permanent home, he has come back to visit his parents following a pledge made by Jamie to Jenny upon the kidnapping of Ian by Geillis’s men and the near-fatal incident that ensued.

He’ll get back with Claire, who goes back to save Henri-Christian. He does get a chance to say goodbye to his father first, who is dying to consumption, and he gets back to find Rachel and Rollo.

It starts Young Ian’s real love story with Rachel Hunter. This, of course, brings problems.

Arch Bug comes for his revenge in Outlander

In the finale of Outlander Season 7A, we spotted Arch Bug. Upon noticing Rollo, he failed to find Ian but observed that Rollo was in Rachel Hunter’s car. This situation isn’t lost on him. Since Ian has entrusted Rollo with Rachel, it is evident that he holds a deep affection for her.

It’s now Arch’s moment for retribution, and he intends to threaten Rachel’s life. Typically, we would observe Young Ian striking back, but Rachel urges Young Ian to abandon his aggressive behavior. Notably, she is a believer in peace. Young Ian aims to respect Rachel’s sentiments.

It’s William who comes to the rescue, killing Arch Bug. So that deals with that problem.

Young Ian mourns the loss of his mother

In the sneak peek for Outlander’s Season 7B, I notice Young Ian setting a stone atop a tower – it’s a tribute, a heartfelt memorial for his mom and Jamie. The duo, as we fear, are presumed dead, lost at sea on their voyage to America.

Gladly, neither of them perish, yet the sorrow persists. I’m back with my mom once more, and it gives Rachel an opportunity to meet hers.

As a dedicated Outlander fan, I can’t help but reflect on the potential developments in our beloved series. In the world of this captivating tale, my character, Young Ian, and Rachel Hunter are tying the knot and starting a family of their own. However, the wise Rollo has reached the end of his journey, leaving us all with a heavy heart. Whether or not these events unfold in Season 7B is still uncertain, but considering the richness of the storyline, it wouldn’t be surprising if they were part of our grand finale. The birth of their baby and the beginning of their life together is certainly a significant moment that could mark the end of an era for our characters.

As a dedicated Outlander fan, I have a feeling that Arch will make an attempt on Rachel’s life and we might just witness the wedding event of the year – quite the plot twist! It seems like they’re setting things up for some intriguing storylines in Season 8, leaving us guessing how their story unfolds for now.

Outlander Season 7B premieres on Friday, Nov. 22 on Starz.
