For those who haven’t read the books yet and are curious about what lies ahead, let’s explore some spoilers from the upcoming books for the main characters returning in “Outlander” Season 7B as we inch closer to the premiere
So yes, spoilers for the books! You’ve been warned.
Jamie will make it to Lallybroch in Outlander Season 7B
We concluded Season 7A of Outlander with Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian returning to Scotland after a long absence, anticipating many changes upon their arrival. From a promotional image, it’s clear that Jamie eventually returns to Lallybroch, which isn’t a book spoiler. However, what will happen when he arrives at Lallybroch is a book spoiler
Ian Murray is near death due to tuberculosis. Meanwhile, Laoghaire stirs up trouble once more by demanding alimony for Jamie‘s bigamy. However, Jamie and his associates devise a plan to handle the Laoghaire issue. They succeed in catching her with another man, living openly with him. This discovery could have severe consequences for Laoghaire, so she and Jamie will likely reach an understanding
The situation is advantageous since Laoghaire receives a message about Henri-Christian’s sickness in the book. Claire has a solution for his condition, and Laoghaire pleads with her to intervene to save her grandson. She doesn’t understand that Claire is deeply attached to the boy and would help regardless, but Laoghaire proposes a deal: she promises to leave Jamie alone forever and never ask for financial aid again if Claire agrees to help Henri-Christian. And so, it’s agreed!
It’s this event that causes Claire and Jamie to be apart once more, introducing an element of suspense as Jamie and Jenny compose a letter informing Claire about their intended voyage by sea on a specific ship. Tragically, this ship meets its demise, leading everyone to assume that both Jamie and Jenny have perished
Jamie gets back home to find his wife has remarried in Outlander
Astoundingly, Jamie and Jenny found themselves aboard a vessel departing later than expected. Upon our arrival in Philadelphia, I learned that Claire and Lord John Grey had been under the impression that I had perished at sea. Their union left me stunned, but the news of their consummated marriage sent a wave of anger coursing through me like red-hot iron
It seems that Jamie and John’s bond may have been shattered, given Jamie brutally inflicted severe injuries upon John and abandoned him in the woods. However, Jamie eventually comes to terms with Claire’s actions. Over time, they manage to mend their rift
In the ongoing Revolutionary War, we are aware that Jamie will wear a blue coat during Outlander Season 7B. Indeed, he is fighting for George Washington, specifically engaging in the Battle of Monmouth – a pivotal event in the storyline, resulting in Jamie coming close to losing Claire
In addition, we have William, who discovers that Jamie is his biological father. Jamie yearns to rectify their relationship, but William remains indifferent. Jamie concludes that he must be patient and allow time for William to reach out
You’re getting a sneak peek at the upcoming storylines of Outlander Season 7B, which seem to be based on An Echo in the Bone and Written in My Own Heart’s Blood
A book storyline that may not make it into the show
One book’s plot hasn’t been adapted into a television show yet. The story revolves around Jamie, who injures his back, and Sylvia Hardman and her daughters step in to help him. Sylvia’s husband is believed to have died in war, leaving her struggling financially and trying to care for her daughters. They resort to questionable methods, but Jamie is a kind man around Sylvia and her family
Sylvia concludes with a narrative that reads as “I’m Leaving, Bees“, as the story arc won’t have enough time to unfold in the series
