As a dedicated fan of Australian television and a self-proclaimed aficionado of neo-western series, I can hardly contain my excitement for the impending release of “Territory” on Netflix! Having lived through the golden era of Aussie soaps like Neighbours and Home and Away, I’ve grown accustomed to the unique blend of drama, humor, and heartache that these productions so effortlessly deliver.

The much-awaited neo-western series, now titled “Territory,” is about to premiere on streaming giant, Netflix. Ever since its original name Desert King was changed to Territory in July 2024, there’s been a lot of excitement surrounding it. However, many fans are wondering when exactly they can watch this intriguing Australian drama on Netflix and what they should expect from it.

Here’s everything you need to know about when Territory is coming out on Netflix.

When does Territory come out on Netflix?

Netflix will drop Territory on October 24 at  12:00 A.M. PT.

On the specified date, Netflix is set to make available worldwide six episodes of Territory, each lasting between 50 and 70 minutes. Viewers can select a subscription that works best for them since Netflix does not offer a free trial. Yet, users enjoy the convenience of modifying their current subscriptions upwards or downwards whenever required.

Timothy Lee and Ben Davies play the roles as the creators of this Australian television show. The story revolves around the Lawson family, who possess Marianne Station – the world’s largest cattle station. As the family patriarch passes away, a bitter power struggle erupts among the family members in their quest for ownership. To make matters more complicated, both rival ranchers and organized crime figures have an interest in taking control of the station, further escalating the tension.

As a passionate admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the tantalizing trailer for the upcoming series has been unveiled! In an exclusive chat with Netflix, our esteemed showrunner, Davies, has shed light on the inspirations behind crafting this captivating cattle drama.

He said that on a beach walk during a pandemic, he and executive producer Rob Gibson became excited about a “high-stakes action drama” set in Australia. He further adds, “It was a complete contrast as we were surrounded by the Bondi crowd, people moving past us in their active wear, wet suits, carrying their surfboards while Rob and I were dreaming up stories about people in jeans, boots, and flannel shirts in the Top End.”

This production stars Anna Torv, Michael Dorman, Robert Taylor, Sam Corlett, Sara Wiseman, Dan Wyllie, and several other talented actors.
