Indeed, Vijay’s acting in “Maharaja” resonated deeply with numerous viewers, as the film’s emotionally charged narrative lived up to expectations on the silver screen. Yet, there was one pivotal scene in the movie that alluded to an incident of sexual abuse, which left a profound imprint on him personally.
As a father himself, Makkal Selvan empathized deeply with the on-screen character, stating that no father should ever have to endure such heartache.
In an interview with Koimoi, the actor mentioned that he filmed the scene three times, and it was on the third try that emotions overcame him, causing him to break down.
In his words, “The first two times I was in control, but the third time the tears were real.”

Currently, the actor is preparing for the debut of his upcoming film titled Thalaivan Thalaivi. At a recent pre-launch gathering for the movie, he addressed concerns about cyberbullying, particularly during the premiere period of a film.
He mentioned that we often go out in public, and sometimes people laugh at us. They’re expressing their own opinions, and it’s not for us to dictate how they should view our movie or appreciate the work we’ve done. However, when it’s our turn to shine, we must strive to improve based on those comments and make something even better.

Moving forward with his cinematic projects, the movie titled “Thalaivan Thalaivi,” featuring actress Nithya Menen, is set to hit theaters on July 25.
Besides that, Vijay Sethupathi is also working on a movie with director Puri Jagannadh, which is set to release soon. In this project, Samyuktha, Tabu, and other notable actors have taken key roles. Filming for this production started in Hyderabad just a few days ago.
