As a gamer who has experienced a rollercoaster of emotions while playing games like “The Walking Dead” and “Life is Strange,” I can truly empathize with Olivia Munn‘s journey. Her courage to showcase her double mastectomy scars in the SKIMS campaign is nothing short of inspiring, much like the characters I play in games who face their own battles bravely.
Following her participation as the representative for the SKIMS campaign, showcasing her double mastectomy scars, Olivia Munn explained her decision to reveal these scars during an interview on TODAY. In this discussion, she spoke candidly about her personal experience with breast cancer, the birth of her daughter Méi June Mulaney through surrogacy, and the newest SKIMS campaign. Simultaneously, the SKIMS initiative teamed up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to promote early health screenings for women by launching this campaign.

In the recent TODAY interview, Olivia Munn shared her experience of displaying her double mastectomy scars in the latest SKIMS advertising campaign. Originally, their partnership focused on shapewear and leggings, but things took a different turn during the campaign shoot. As a breast cancer survivor, she mentioned that while changing costumes, the makeup team subtly highlighted her scars as part of the shooting process.
After discovering that it was challenging to conceal her double mastectomy scars, the SKIMS campaign underwent a positive transformation. Olivia Munn decided she no longer wanted to feel insecure about her scars and expressed this to the team, suggesting they feature her scars in their campaign. The team’s response was both encouraging and considerate, leading to the photoshoot.
The performer openly admitted that the situation was “terrifying,” but she found some relief knowing she no longer had to conceal it. Moreover, Munn expressed her hope that this campaign might support other women experiencing a similar path as hers, as it provides a sense of comfort.
In a video posted by SKIMS, the survivor of breast cancer spoke more about her journey. The actress expressed deep gratitude as she looked at her scars and added, “The appearance of my body simply symbolizes the fierce battle I waged.
Significantly, during the period from October 23rd to October 31st, SKIMS is planning to contribute 10% of the sale price for every bra purchased from their physical stores and online platforms directly towards the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
