As a dedicated follower of Demolition Ranch for years, I’ve come to know and appreciate Matt Carriker’s expertise and passion for firearms. The recent controversy surrounding the tragic shooting incident involving Thomas Matthew Crooks and his “Demolitia” shirt is disheartening.
A prominent gun YouTube channel, Demolition Ranch, has found itself in the midst of controversy due to unforeseen circumstances. The individual involved in the Trump shooting tragedy, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was wearing a “Demolitia” shirt supporting Demolition Ranch at the time of his death. Regrettably, the channel’s owner, Matt Carriker, has been questioned for any potential role in Crooks’ violent actions.
Why is Demolition Ranch part of the Trump shooter controversy?
When Thomas Matthew Crooks met his unfortunate demise, he was clad in a “Demolitia” t-shirt as reported by Newsweek. This is the moniker of the devoted fanbase for the YouTube channel, Demolition Ranch. The shirt bears an uncanny resemblance to authentic merchandise, which can be purchased on the Bunker Branding Co. website alongside other Demolition Ranch-themed items.
As a gamer, I’ve noticed some folks on social media trying to connect the actions of Crooks with Demolition Ranch’s pro-gun stance. But let me tell you, that comparison is as illogical as accusing Jodie Foster for John Hinckley Jr.’s shooting of Ronald Reagan. There’s no proven connection between Carriker and Crooks beyond the shirt they both wore. And we still don’t have concrete evidence on how Crooks obtained that specific piece of merchandise – was it a purchase from Bunker Branding, a gift, or bought through a third party? Or maybe Crooks is just a fan of Demolition Ranch who happened to wear their shirt during the unfortunate incident.
Last night was chaotic… I’ve been contacted by multiple news outlets wanting to know if I had any interactions with the gunman. Incredibly surprising!

I’ve been following Carriker’s comments on the ongoing situation, and up to this point, he’s kept his remarks fairly brief. In a recent tweet, he mentioned that reporters have reached out to him inquiring if he had ever engaged in conversations with the shooter.
It’s disappointing to read articles that mention the shooter, Trump, and somehow implicate me. I’ll be making a public statement about this on YouTube soon. I’m still finding it hard to believe, to be honest.

In his next tweet, he announced that he would be sharing some news on the Demolition Ranch YouTube channel in the near future.
Up to now, no manifesto from Crooks has been made public by authorities explaining his motive for attempting to assassinate Trump or the extent of his fondness for Demolition Ranch. The situation remains fluid, and this article will be updated with any new information.
