What Happened to the AGT Dancing Dog Act for America’s Got Talent 2024?

As a seasoned gamer with a knack for keeping up with America’s Got Talent, I must say, this year’s dancing dog act by Roni Sagi and her canine companion Rhythm is nothing short of extraordinary! The way they danced to Queen’s classics, “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Don’t Stop Me Now,” was a sight to behold, leaving me on the edge of my seat.

In the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent 2024, a captivating dance performance by dog Rhythm and trainer Roni Sagi left both audience and judges spellbound. Their act, synchronized to Queen’s songs “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Don’t Stop Me Now,” was as impressive as Adrian Stoica & Hurricane’s winning act from AGT 2023. However, if you’re curious about the background of this talented duo, here’s what we know about their dance act for AGT 2024 so far.

Who is the AGT dancing dog act in 2024?

For America’s Got Talent 2024, renowned Israeli dog trainer Roni Sagi will showcase an act with his extraordinary companion, a nearly three-year-old black-and-white border collie named Rhythm. This dynamic duo will captivate the audience with their mesmerizing dance routine.

On June 11, 2024, the debut performance of Sagi and Rhythm on America’s Got Talent showcased a slower dance routine to the song “California Dreamin'” by Sia. Despite not earning the golden buzzer, they were met with a standing ovation from both the audience and all four judges.

For their quarterfinals act, they’re set to advance into the results show on August 14, 2024, thanks to a strong performance that resonated with many. Judge Howie Mandel expressed his admiration by stating he would have used the golden buzzer if he could. Assuming they secure enough audience votes, they’ll be progressing further into the semifinals and getting one step closer to winning the $1 million grand prize.

Sagi has previously teamed up with a canine partner in performances, as reported by The Times of Israel. In 2021, she showcased her skills at a competition held in the Czech Republic alongside another border collie named Pesach. Notably, they placed third in the freestyle dog dancing category at the 2022 Open European Championship. Before venturing into dog dancing, Sagi had a successful career as a professional dancer from 1998 to 2009.

As a thrilled admirer, I shared with NBC producers back in February 2022 that I welcomed Rhythm into my home, describing him as an unstoppable whirlwind from the get-go. Being his trainer, I run a dog dancing business called Keta Tov – a vibrant hub where I offer diverse courses to help both me and my canine students master a variety of dance moves together.
