Instead, Sources informed ABC News that Kelly spent just two days in the hospital for routine medical care, after which he was sent back to prison. The Bureau of Prisons chose not to disclose details about the matter due to privacy and safety regulations.

Kelly’s lawyers have charged that prison authorities put his life at risk by forcing him out of Duke University Hospital despite medical advice. They claim he was diagnosed with blood clots in his legs and lungs, necessitating immediate surgery, which the prison staff is said to have prevented.
