Renowned comic book artist Peter David has tragically passed away at the age of 68. Known for his 12-year tenure with The Incredible Hulk comics, his passing was confirmed by his longtime friend and fellow fantasy writer Keith R.A. DeCandido on Sunday.

Peter David passes away at 68, claims report
On May 25th, DeCandido expressed the sad news about Peter David’s passing on Facebook. In his touching post, the Star Trek collaborator expressed, “I received word last night that Peter David, after a long struggle with his deteriorating health, has passed away. I first encountered Peter 35 years ago when he appeared on The Chronic Rift public access show. Over the past three and a half decades, he has been a respected creator, a dear friend, a valued collaborator, and an overall exceptional person.
After the passing of Peter David, a writer whose company I cherished immensely, I find myself at a loss for words, yet filled with sorrow. The absence of his witty, intelligent spirit leaves an indelible void in my heart. My thoughts also extend to his beloved wife Kathleen O’Shea David, and their daughters Ariel, Shana, Gwen, and Caroline, who must now navigate life without the warmth and humor that their husband and father so effortlessly brought into their lives.
Before his passing, David was dealing with numerous health complications which led to significant medical bills. To assist David and his spouse in paying off these expenses, Graham Murphy, their friend, initiated a GoFundMe campaign as they encountered denial in their Medicaid applications. On May 20th, Kathleen, David’s partner, announced that doctors had placed the comic book veteran on a ventilator because he was unable to cough or clear his throat on his own.
Apart from creating a stir in The Incredible Hulk comic series, David’s work has also been instrumental in boosting the popularity of Aquaman, Young Justice, Supergirl, Spiderman (original and 2099 versions), and Captain Marvel, to name a few.
